Surface Hygiene Monitoring ATP System

Wherever food residue is present, there is a risk of microbial contamination. While culture tests can detect the presence of microorganisms, ATP tests also detect the presence of food residues and therefore provides a more complete indicator of risk. Also, culture tests take several days for a complete measurement while ATP results are available within seconds.

The Kikkoman LuciPac ATP pen is designed specifically for measuring contamination on surfaces in the food & medical hygiene industries. When used together with the Kikkoman Lumitester PD-20 luminometer, surface contamination can be detected anywhere at any time. LuciPac tests are best suited for cleanliness control in food manufacturing and processing plants, transportation and distribution facilities, supermarkets, and food preparation facilities such as kitchens. Medical applications such as hospitals and clinics can also benefit from LuciPac technology.

Advantages of Kikkoman surface tests:

• Small and lightweight – The PD-20 is the world's smallest luminometer (235 g, without battery).
• Simple and speedy – "Swab and measure. That's all". Total measuring time is only 10 seconds.
• High sensitivity – in addition to measuring ATP, LuciPac tests also measure AMP (Adenosine Monophosphate), a molecule generated from ATP during processing, such as heating and fermentation.
