Ultrapure Water Production Test Program Set-up

The unmatched sensitivity, ease-of-use, and real-time feedback of LuminUltra’s ATP monitoring technology make it the ideal tool for monitoring each stage of a water purification system. In applications that require ultrapure water (i.e. life sciences, semiconductors, etc.), testing for indicator organisms such as total coliforms is not acceptable. ATP testing provides the perfect means to monitor total microbial content because it measures all species, including many types that are not detected with culturing methods.

The figure below shows a typical water purification system and examples of various points where routine ATP testing can be used to confirm efficient operation of several components of a water treatment system:

1. Source Water
By identifying the microbiological content of the source water, downstream results can be compared to the origin to gauge the extent of microbial growth within the network.

2, 3, 4. Before and After Treatment
ATP provides the ideal tool to assess treatment efficacy, regardless of the method.

5. Product Water
Use ATP monitoring to verify that product water is meeting the expectations as required.
