Unpacking & Storing Materials

So you have received your order from LuminUltra. Now what? Simply follow these guidelines to get everything set up:

General – Locate a clean workspace in an office or laboratory for performing ATP tests. When selecting an area, make sure it is relatively clean, without direct or intense sunlight, and in an area with a low amount of dust or other particles in the air. An area of 2’x2’ is generally sufficient to perform tests.

Luminometer – Unpack the box and you will find the Luminometer, a carrying case, and some cables. Obtain the power cable and plug in the Luminometer to charge the battery. It is not necessary to fully charge the instrument before use, so long as it remains plugged in.

Pipets & Test Tubes – Locate a clean area to store pipet tips and test tubes. Keep the bags sealed with not in use to avoid contamination. Locate an area that is relatively clean and secure for the micropipettors and test tube racks to avoid breakage.

Test Kits – As soon as possible after receipt of a test kit, open the box and remove the foam box/ice pack assembly and store Luminase in the refrigerator. You will also find a plastic bag containing UltraCheck 1, which can be stored at room temperature. Bottled reagents should be stored at room temperature in a convenient location. Caps on all reagent bottles and vials should be firmly sealed when not in use to avoid contamination.
