Distribution Center Manager

LuminUltra is currently recruiting for a Distribution Center Manager to join our Operations Team at our Linthicum Heights, Baltimore, MD facility. LuminUltra has recently opened a new Distribution Center in Baltimore. This 7,000 square foot facility employs approximately 10 employees within our Baltimore Distribution Team.

Job Description 

As a key member of LuminUltra’s Operations Team, reporting to the VP of Operations, the Distribution Center Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a growing distribution team (5 – 10 employees) of “A” players through coaching, mentoring, and cross-training, including participation in day-to-day operations as required.
  • Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance in shipping/receiving, packaging and warehouse/inventory management.
  • Achieve planned output, product quality and on-time shipping.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal customers (e.g., production, sales).
  • Working with corporate process and functional leads, develop people, processes, and tools to increase productivity, reduce waste and enhance overall performance.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and safe operating practices.
  • Create a layout plan that streamlines the storage and retrieval of goods.
  • Ensure inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained.
  • Ensure full compliance with facility regulatory standards.
  • Consistent compliance with record keeping pertaining to QA/QC, ERP, and other transactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement cadence through KPI measurement, variance analysis and implementation of resulting change projects.
  • Track quality, efficiency, and turnaround time of all functions, including order processing.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic maintenance.


  • 3+ years of progressive experience leading high volume warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (SCM) preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems (Oracle preferred), and other relevant software platforms.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have built and managed teams of 2-4 individuals responsible for inventory management and logistics.
