Pat Whalen

Pat has worked his entire adult life to bring LuminUltra to where it is today. When he is not jetting around the world providing hands-on support to LuminUltra’s extensive roster of sales partners and customers, he is constantly refining LuminUltra’s strategy to deliver more value from its solutions. Having come from a family of engineers, he is a consummate problem solver who has written dozens of technical papers, patents and other published works. In the rare circumstance that Pat is not focused on advancing LuminUltra, he volunteers his time on not-for-profit boards and entrepreneur coaching.

Having been part of LuminUltra since its inception puts me in a unique position to comprehensively reflect on what this company has achieved.  When I think back to LuminUltra’s beginnings, I recall my father Phil (LuminUltra’s original President) remarking to me what a wonderful opportunity this could turn out to be for myself and for the industry.  Being a teenager at the time, I lacked the same vision he had.  All I had known to that point was working in a lab, running reagent development experiments, and I commented that I did not have an interest in doing that for the rest of my life.

Fast forward 20 years, and I now have a full appreciation for what he was talking about.  I’ve had the pleasure of carrying out just about every job function a business could possibly require, from scrubbing glassware in the lab to fielding technical support calls to carrying out performance reviews.  I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with thousands of people from across the world, hearing their stories and seeing the impact that our solutions have had for them.  As I sit here today writing this blog, I can tell you unequivocally that every single person working at LuminUltra, every single partner we have, and every single customer we have, are critical to our business.  Without you, the company would not be what it is today.

I would like to leave you with this thought in closing of this 7-part blog series: YOU are why we do what we do.  We care about our community, and want you to always enjoy a quality experience with our products and services.  I promise you that we will continue to listen, continue to innovate, and continue to be flexible for you, as we want you to succeed and win – because when you win, we win too.
