LuminUltra recognized for innovative drinking water technology [News Release]

FREDERICTON, NB, CANADA – June 23, 2017 – LuminUltra, a New Brunswick, Canada-based innovator in microbiological monitoring and control solutions, has been awarded a 2017 Water’s Next Award for its drinking water technologies. Company president Pat Whalen, winner of the 2016 Water’s Next Award for his business achievements, was a finalist for the 2017 award in the same category.

The Water’s Next awards recognize the accomplishments of individuals and companies driving innovation in the Canadian water industry. The drinking water award is presented annually to projects and technologies that have benefited municipal treatment and/or conditioning and purification. Representatives of LuminUltra accepted the award during Water Canada magazine’s annual gala at the Sheraton Centre Toronto following the Canadian Water Summit.

LuminUltra provides real-time, on-site microbiological monitoring and control products and services based on its 2nd Generation ATP® (Adenosine Triphosphate) technology. This technology provides a fast and accurate means of quantifying total microbiological activity in drinking water and wastewater processes, allowing operators to take real-time action to mitigate microbiological problems.

“Our team at LuminUltra works to help water system operators better understand and proactively manage the risks of microorganisms in water,” said the company’s Research and Development Manager, Jeremy Duguay.  “Our microbiological testing technology is fast, versatile, portable and accurate, making it easy to ensure the safety of drinking water systems. It makes it possible for water system operators to have critical information in minutes rather than days.”
