Wastewater treatment operations can encounter upset conditions that occur without warning when operators rely on conventional monitoring parameters. These upsets can cause nuisances such as poor biosolids settlability or in the worst case compromise treatment, leading to effluent that does not meet quality targets. Through its 2nd Generation ATP® monitoring system, LuminUltra now provides operators with the means to obtain an early-warning of upset conditions and to determine the source of toxicity entering a treatment process.
In this case study, this approach is demonstrated using the wastewater test kit to routinely assess the impacts of outplant toxicity and trace it to its source.
